Activision is the UK's leading computer games publisher. Spook has worked with Activision on a range of varied online initiatives, bringing many offline activities to the web.
Activision publishes a high number of computer games every year, across a range of different gaming platforms, with product variations for every commercial territory. Dealing with some of the industry's hottest games and brands, it is imperative that Activision keeps tight control over sensitive asset distribution. As a result, press asset distribution was a massive headache.
However, Spook came to the rescue! Through Mercury, our bespoke digital asset management solution, we provided the antidote to Activision's troubles. Now, game screenshots, packshots and related media are correctly distributed to offices and press worldwide with just a few clicks.
Territory-specific embargoes are addressed and the Activision press offices can rely on the new system to distribute assets according to strict guidelines and release schedules. From Activision's perspective, it's 'game on', rather than 'game over'.
Activision offers all its customers the ability to register online - through targeted member privileges and competitions. Historically the process had been carried out using a lengthy paper registration form, sent in by post. This proved unproductive and laborious for both Activision and its customers.
Using some crafty coding, Spook style, the new online registration service captures key data from registrants and stores these in a secure database. The information is appended to the central Activision database, meaning that the new system integrates seamlessly with existing customers services processes. Problem solved, process improved.
Once a year Activision hosts a press extravaganza in order to show off new games for the forthcoming year. This event, Activate, is attended by all of the most influential voices in the global gaming industry. With so many important journalists converging on a single day, all needing efficient and professional handling - effective co-ordination is paramount.
Spook created an event management system for Activate 2001, cutting administration errors and overheads considerably. All user details were managed and rationalised within a tightly integrated database, ensuring Activison were able to keep on top of, and manage all the aspect of the journalist management.
Activision keeps returning to Spook because they take the games industry seriously, they play to win! If you'd like a champion solution, then click here.
